Access In this memo, the author will provide a project proposal that will demonstrate the need to convert the company over to Microsoft Access from the current configuration with Microsoft Excel in the company's databases. In this short presentation, we will focus on the advantages of Microsoft Access, in particular the ability of the application to be customized to a specific project or situation with a minimum of programming ability. It is fully compatible with almost all of the MS peripherals such as Word, Outlook, etc. It also has a number of sales applications, as we shall see.

The chief advantage to this is easy customization. Additionally, flexibility is and advantage with Access. Microsoft realizes that not every person is skilled at making databases. For this reason, the company made basic templates just about any user can go forward with and use right away. With Microsoft Access, any database can be immediately built from scratch or the simple templates can be tweaked as is needed to fit the company's needs. Rather than having workers to input each and every record every time that a project is started, the application holds many thousands of to revisit whenever needed, saving time. Unfortunately, in Microsoft Excel, one has to start from scratch each time (ibid.).
